About the Role
Chainlink Labs is seeking a Director of Policy to lead our engagement with the US government, shaping the regulatory and legislative frameworks that define blockchain adoption. This role is not just about advocacy—it is about securing favorable policy outcomes that position Chainlink’s infrastructure as the standard for secure and reliable blockchain applications in both public and private markets.
This is a highly strategic, outward-facing role requiring deep expertise in federal policy-making, government relations, and regulatory frameworks. You will directly shape laws, regulations, and public sector adoption standards that ensure Chainlink’s innovations are embedded in the future of digital assets, decentralized infrastructure, and blockchain security.
This position is not a traditional lobbying role but rather a high-level leadership role focused on driving federal policy outcomes and securing high-level government engagement.
Your Impact
- Secure Chainlink’s Role in US Financial & Technology Policy: Engage senior policymakers and federal agencies to ensure Chainlink’s technologies are referenced in regulations and legislation.
- Establish Government Blockchain Standards: Define policy frameworks and technology requirements that position Chainlink as the preferred secure blockchain infrastructure provider.
- Embed Chainlink’s Technology in Federal Policy: Ensure decentralized infrastructure, proof-of-reserves, and secure blockchain solutions are written into regulatory and procurement standards.
- Drive Strategic Government Engagement: Cultivate direct relationships with Congress, executive agencies, and financial regulators to advance Chainlink’s strategic priorities.
- Support Public Sector Procurement & Adoption: Align Chainlink’s technology and compliance standards with government adoption requirements, securing major contracts and partnerships.
- Strengthen Executive-Level Engagement: Ensure Chainlink’s CEO and leadership have direct access to key lawmakers, regulatory officials, and high-impact decision-makers.
- Represent Chainlink at the Highest Levels: Serve as the public policy voice for Chainlink in government forums, industry panels, and working groups shaping blockchain adoption.
Requirements
- Significant experience delivering wins in US government affairs, public policy, or public sector business development, with a focus on technology infrastructure.
- Led and influenced federal policy-making, securing regulatory or legislative outcomes that support emerging technologies.
- Established high-level government relationships, engaging senior officials in Congress, financial regulators (e.g., Treasury, Fed, SEC, CFTC), and executive agencies (e.g., DoD, GSA, DHS).
- Crafted and implemented regulatory frameworks, translating complex technical concepts into enforceable laws and policies.
- Led cross-functional policy initiatives, collaborating with legal, business development, and technical teams to align government engagement with Chainlink Labs’ US strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Held senior roles in policy-making or regulatory agencies, negotiating and influencing federal technology and financial policy (e.g., Congressional staffer, regulatory official).
- Expertise in blockchain, decentralized computing, or cryptographic security frameworks, with the ability to translate them into actionable policy recommendations.
- Chaired or actively influenced federal advisory committees, task forces, or public-private partnerships to shape national tech policy.
- Drove government adoption of emerging technologies, ensuring favorable regulatory risk assessments and procurement standards.
- Secured federal technology adoption, working with agencies like DoD, GSA, DHS, or Treasury to integrate new solutions into government initiatives.
- Led high-profile public advocacy efforts, influencing blockchain policy through media engagement, industry events, and government testimony.
- Strong public speaking skills, with experience presenting to senior government officials and industry leaders in high-stakes policy discussions.
